It's not who starts but who finishes!

So Matt Leinart you have been named the started by head coach Wiz! Ok that is fine & dandy but you need to PROVE it on the field. We know your legacy @ USC, we know about the partying, the girls, the kid, etc... Now we want to see the results on the field bro. You have the weapons, you have the coaching staff's confidence, the owner paid you, the fans love you, now just bring us to the promise land Matty! It's not a lot to ask a 3rd year QB, a former Heisman winner, a guy who lost more games in half a season in the pros then over his entire High School & College careers combined. A team that hasn't been to the playoffs since 1998, a team that has the worst career winning percentage in NFL History, a team that is on the verge of making the playoffs but yet pulls up lame just before season ends to lose out on a chance to get there once again. So Matt now that you have all of these expectations on you, do you still want the job? We all know Kurt Warner is capable of leading this franchise, I still feel he is the better QB right now for this team but does that still get you into the playoffs. I still like Matt as our QB of the future, but 8-8 & just missing the playoffs might not be the immediate future for these Red Birds. So the pressure is on Matt so I suggest taking full advantage of this opportunity because you never know if it will happen again.

Yo DD!!!

I left the hatermustdie name on azcentral.

Yup, Matty needs to step up. I think he will be fine. People think he was a product of a system at USC, but that's not exactly the case. USC Didn't exactly blow people out week after week. Matt not only had to fight off challenges from other QB's (Kassel, Booty) but he also gutted out some great wins. Remember Notre Dame? Or either the 2004 or 2005 ASU games? Or all the Cal games? Close hard fought contests that he had to help gut out.

Basically every time he gets challenged, he responds. And people also forget he had a good rookie year behind a pathetic offensive line. Yes the jury is still out but let's give the guy a chance.

But like I said before. If his brain is in the hot tub during the season rather than the locker room and play book, bench the bum, throw in greybeard, and move in a different direction.

GO CARDS!!!!!!
